Next up in our end of year reviews is Jamie Scahill, lovingly telling the story his venue 2022NQ in 2013. They're set to end the year with a New Year's Eve party with former Hacienda resident Jon Dasilva joined by Disco Mums and Chips With Everything (full details here), and have created a playlist based on the people who'v performed at the venue over the past year.

How has 2013 been for you then overall?

It’s been a fantastic year down here for us, we seemed to have found our feet and people have realised what we’re all about…we think! Lots of great club nights and exhibitions.

What highlights have you had?

Some of the club nights have been pretty special… Horse Meat Disco, Greg Wilson, Norman Jay, Loefah, Crazy P, Psychemagik and most recently Ben Pearce threw a party which sold out in days and he absolutely smashed it! Away from music we had Agyness Deyn down here launching her Dr Martens range which was pretty cool, we were sworn to secrecy and the place was on lock down for the day but she was really nice.

You’ve done a Spotify playlist for us (stream below), thanks! Explain the songs you’ve chosen and why?

Basically we’ve gone a Top 10 of tunes mainly either produced, remixed or re-edited by some of the DJ’s who have played, or in Jon’s case will be, for us this year. There's also records from Prince and Diana Ross included, which were both big moments for Greg Wilson and Horsemeat Disco respectively during their DJ sets for us.

What other music have you been into this year?

We have an open policy with music here so during the day you could be listening to Chvrches, Money, Alt J, Daughter then at night we might pick it up and play Delphic, Daft Punk & Rudimental. We always play loads of DJ mixes as well from sets recorded here so anything from Greg Wilson, Horse Meat Disco and Psychemagik and we have 6 Music on a lot!

What have you got planned for Boxing Day/New Year?

We actually have a friend's wedding booked in on the 26th & 27th but on New Years Eve we throw open the doors with Jon Dasilva, Disco Mums and Chips with Everything taking over. We wanted to keep it cheap so the first 100 tickets are £5.

And finally; any plans you can let slip for 2014?

Yes we have loads! We’ll be closing for a few weeks in January for a rest and a bit of a spruce up and you’ll be the first to hear of those plans very soon!
