After worrying music fans across the globe with the announcement of the intentions to create another X-Factor style show, Simon Cowell's Ultimate DJ has been shelved.
The show, which was intended to be aired on the Internet by Yahoo, would have been a competition exactly like the X-Factor with the winner being offered a Sony record deal and a festival headline slot. If you want an idea of what the programme could have been like, watch Steve Lawler's spoof below.
The proposed show received an angry backlash from some of the biggest DJs in the world including Tiesto, DJ Fresh and Fatboy Slim, who told the producers of Ultimate DJ to "fuck off" calling it a "terrible idea" when approached to be a judge on the show when it was originally pitched two years ago.
