East Village Arts Club has the pleasure of welcoming back one of Liverpool’s favourite parties this September, the immortal Chibuku Shake Shake. After an incredible start to the year followed by a crafty summer break, Chibuku is back on our calendars with a line-up that typically raids a cross section of music genres. Headlining the event are the dynamic electronic duo Disclosure and their talented roster of friends.
There is no denying these boys are extraordinary and with four charting singles in the last year, Disclosure have undeniably made their mark on the electronic music scene, with their ability to weld pop to house and garage whilst forming an entirely new and exciting sound has been a huge success. Besides their exceptional live shows, mastering live percussion, chord pads, piano/synths and more, they are also incredible DJs and this show will see them deliver that nous once more.
Joining them is Dirtybird co-owner Justin Martin. A man who came of age musically following the success of his debut album Ghettos and Gardens (which contains the lucrative deep house groove ‘Don’t Go’ above), it was released seven years after his first track on the Dirtybird label he runs with Claude VonStroke, marking his evolution in musical maturity.
London born and bred Oneman will also play the event, bringing a darker bassier vibe with his dubstep, grime and current US hip-hop influences, as well as UK based genre-bending and mystery producer Sophie and upcoming house star Hannah Wants.
