Dijon’s long-awaited second album is here after a four-year wait. Baby, the follow-up to 2021’s Absolutely, was a surprise arrival that adds to what has already been a mammoth year for the alt-R&B star.

A record teased only by a countdown clock on his website last week, which promised a release as long as "samples were cleared", Baby is the latest milestone for Dijon, following cameos on Bon Iver’s Sable, Fable and Justin Bieber’s Swag, while eagle-eyed film fans caught a glimpse of the artist in the latest trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming film One Battle After Another.
As expected from Dijon, Baby features a blend of old and new, fusing vintage 80s and 90s R&B with bold, experimental production, alongside songwriting that delves into first-time fatherhood. The new record also features fellow indie hero and regular collaborator Mk.gee on album closer ‘Kindalove’.
