A tradition of epic proportions, the Boxing Day rave is the chance for you to blow away the excesses of Christmas with the best type of exercise known to man; partying. With New Year's Eve understandably pre-occupying the minds of many Boxing Day offers an earlier alternative (or accompaniment for the more dedicated clubber), and they don't come much stronger and more hotly anticipated than Yousef presents Circus' annual soiree at East Village Arts Club in Liverpool.
As ever Yousef sits at the pinnacle of a smorgasbord of the biggest names in the business, curating a line-up that sees him marshaling some of the strongest names in house and techno. Returning for his third consecutive Christmas with Circus will be Loco Dice, the bastion of Teutonic techno consistently one of the most anticipated guests at the Liverpool soiree. Dice first appeared at the club way back in 2005, at a point where his standing and profile in the UK was still relatively small. How different times are now.
Now a hugely revered and idolised selector, Dice's brilliantly curated sets barrage through the more energetic aspects of house and groove heavy techno, with bass always a prominent focus, and Circus has had his back from day one. His set at Camp and Furnace for 2012's Boxing Day party is still talked about in hushed tones by the Circus faithful (as are many of the others over his frequent appearances in the past seven years), and as the guest mix he contributed for Pete Tong earlier in the year also showcases (listen to it above), you can expect nothing but peerless quality when he touches down again this year.
If Loco Dice fills the returning hero slot, it wouldn't be a true Circus without the appearance of fresh blood, coming this year in the shape of Apollonia. The French supergroup of Shonky, Dyed Soundorom and Dan Ghenacia and have had quite the 2013, becoming one of the most talked about bastions of house music in its rawest form, fresh from a Fabric mix compilation and headline stints at Circo Loco, Panoramabar and Off Sonar (check the below video of when they took over DC-10 in August of this year). Dan has played Circus before but it will be debuts for the other two, and the great chance for the Gallic trio to show off their undoubted chemistry and raw energy.

Also playing will be Dirtybird's talismanic producer Shadow Child and Cadenza's groove merchant Robert Dietz, with the sure qand steady presence of Circus residents Scott Lewis and Lewis Boardman. Head here for further details.
