Preview: Jungle Jam’s 25th Anniversary with Topcat and Benny Page

Not one to cut corners in its party throwing, Jungle Jam have exceeded even their own high standards for its arrival at Leeds’ Mint Warehouse. In excess of thirty artists and DJs will soundtrack three arenas with the finest in bass heavy high tempoed shenanigans. Drum ‘n’ bass, jungle and footwork will all be represented, as will dub, reggae and trap, covering all bases for connoisseurs of sub bass.

Topcat - Ruffest Gunark

Heading the line up will be a fully live performance from one of the true luminaries of jungle. The legendary Topcat, the man behind absolute classics and oft sampled seminal jungle tracks such as ‘Ruffest Gunark’, ‘Police in Helicopter’, and ‘Push U Lighter’, will be treating the crowd to some of his dexterous MCing atop of monumental bone rattling riddims.

Benny Page - The Sound Killer

Drum ‘n’ bass superstar Benny Page will also be getting in on the action. Since bursting onto the scene in 2004, Benny Page has been treating fans of drum n bass to a number of game changing killer cuts, somehow managing to stay ahead of the ever changing bass music scene in this country. His most recent tune sees him marry dancehall with trap, with a hefty drum 'n' bass sensibility into an absolute dancefloor primed tour-de-force. His sets are a varied journey through the weightier end of the d ‘n’ b spectrum, a constant thrill filled ride which takes unexpected turns crammed with dazzling results.

Chopstick Dubplate Mix by Jacky Murda

The champion sounds of Label and artist collective Chopstick Dubplate will be another unmissable highlight, as label boss Jacky Murda comes all the way from Brooklyn NYC to curate an arena starring himself, Aries, Mr Williamz, Kenny Ken, Bladerunner and DLR amongst others.

Jungle Jam Allstars will head up the second arena, featuring MC Gigante, Northern Scum and DJ Shock and a shed load more. Prepare for a night of pure junglist fire at Mint Warehouse on 4th October.
