Office Listening: Mount Kimbie ‘Cold Spring Fault Less Youth’

It's a bit grim out there, which pretty much matches our mood. The bleakness that greets us when we look out the window alongside the obligatory Monday moodiness means we've needed some music that's a little bit more downbeat than usual today, but with some much needed charm to help us get that Serotonin back. Cue Mount Kimbie.

We've resorted to the duo's delightful sophomore opus Cold Spring Fault Less Youth to get us through the day, the warm sonics and off kilter machinations doing enough to delicately pick us up out of the mire. The collaborations with King Krule, the downbeat two step of 'You took your time' and then the clunking percussive groove of 'Meter, Pale, Tone', have been highlights but the whole things is that right side of weird to keep us from disappearing into a dark place for the entire day. Well most of us, one of the accounts guy has full on lost the plot.
