Travis are pleased to announce a major UK tour for March 2004.

The thirteen date tour and Travis’s first major outing for two years, kicks off in Blackpool on March 6th, includes a homecoming gig at Glasgow’s SECC and culminates in a show at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on March 28th.

Travis are currently on tour in Europe in support of their new album 12 Memories, recognized to be their most effecting and powerful work to date. Released in October, the album entered the UK chart at No. 3 and Travis celebrated with a handful of sell-out shows around the UK.

Travis will release a new single, The Beautiful Occupation, on December 15th. Written by Fran Healy as war with Iraq was becoming a real possibility and the crisis in the Middle East was escalating, the song is effectively a peace anthem for modern times. As such Travis will be donating all proceeds they receive from the song to Warchild.

The band delivered a provocative performance of The Beautiful Occupation at this year’s MTV Awards, where they appeared on stage alongside 130 naked protesters.

Travis round off 2003 with a one-off sell out Xmas show at London’s Alexandra Palace on December 20th with special guests Kings Of Leon and 679 Recording artist Ben Kweller. The 8,000 capacity crowd can look forward to an impressive set that includes tracks from their latest album, along with classics from their previous releases, Good Feeling, The Man Who and The Invisible Band
