Nightmares On Wax gear up for the release of their fifth album in 15 years with an edit of the lead track 'Passion'.   As may be assumed from his less-than-prolific output DJ EASE (George to his mum) takes things at a slow and gentle pace, and this single is no exception.  

Over a shuffling beat and a rhodes piano loop, NoW drop an organ stab, a shimmering guitar and an anonymous female vocal.  If it lacks a little something that NoW opening tracks have had in the past, it's probably because it doesn't sample Quincy Jones (unlike his first three albums).  However, it will almost certainly end up soundtracking the BBC’s Wimbledon adverts this summer. 

As a warm, mellow track to start a Nightmares On Wax album, ‘Passion’ is all you could ask for, sounding closer to the vibe of "Carboot Soul" than 2002’s disappointing "Mind Elevation".  It’s existence as a single is a mite confusing – most NoW fans will want the seven minute version and be prepared to wait a couple of extra weeks.  Still, today the sun is shining so spring must be around the corner and if you want a soundtrack for blissed out evenings to come, get this on your iPod now.
