Taking over one of our favourite London haunts - Egg, on the 31st January will be brand new, bass-centric party starters Kurv, who have have hooked in not one, but two of the most iconic labels in forward thinking dance music and bass explorations: Modeselektor's hugely influential, scene stealing 50 Weapons, and Doc Daneeka's always on point Ten Thousand Yen.
However at the helm, and adding further weight to Kurv's monumental inauguration will be Swamp 81 head honcho Loefah. Barely in need of an introduction, Loefah has been arguably one of the biggest influences in the direction of underground bass music over the past decade.
As one of the leading figureheads of dubstep back at the turn of the century, Loefah has continually pushed the boundaries of dance music, both with his productions and record labels. Departing somewhat from the dubstep template in the last five or six years, his all conquering Swamp 81 project has become the leading imprint for purveying varied and ingenious approaches to dance music.
His sets (as can be seen by his Boiler Room stint above) are a wickedly eclectic, weighty journey through the further reaches of dance music experimentation, whilst remaining infectiously dance floor friendly. He is simply a master of his craft, as his appearance at Kurv will attest to.
Joining Loefah will be 50 Weapons favourites and masters of dark and mangled bass bliss Dark Sky, Berlin based funk vanguard Phon.O and Parisian wonky beat protagonist Bambounou.
Doc Daneeka, who himself has enjoyed one of his best years yet, not least through his mighty house cut 'Walk On In', heads up the Ten Thousand Yen representation. Label mates and critically lauded producers xxxy and Chesus and The Organ Grinder are also set to appear, bringing their floor wise brands of funk, bass, soul and groove to complete what is a seriously impressive first event for Kurv.
