The Summer of One Love will see Tim Burgess of The Charlatans return to Club Madchester at Glasgow's the Admiral Bar to spin an exclusive DJ set on Friday 29th of August.
The Admiral bar are making a fine habit of replicating Manchester's golden era in this monthly event and this one could prove to be one of the best yet. The event was established in 1994 and the nights longstanding success can be partly credited to hosts Stevie and dEL who bring the very best of Baggy Classics, New Wave, Modern Indie and the 60's plus much more.
Tim Burgess is the lead vocalist of one of the finest calibre of bands that emerged from the Madchester era, The Charlatans. The band have consistently permeated the UK top 40 with their 11 studio albums that include three number one's.
Anyone mildly acquainted with the Madchester era will be well aware of albums such as the self titled The Charlatans that includes tracks such as 'Just When You're Thinking Things Over' (listen above) which heralded some of the finest music from the 90's.
Burgess also boasts a solo album titled 'I Believe' and has collaborated with fellow Mancunians and big beat trailblazer's The Chemical Brothers on hits 'The Boxer' and 'Life is Sweet'. Still to this day Tim remains integral to The Charlatans which gives this exclusive club night a true representation of Madchester to all its adoring fans. Grab your tickets here.
