Housed in a former fabric mill and furniture warehouse, Canal Mills launched in September 2012 with the aim of becoming a creative hub for the city. More than just a nightclub, Canal Mills set out to offer something different to other Leeds venues; a multi-purpose arts space with a focus on live music, art, film screenings, immersive theatre and pop up restaurants alongside a thoughtfully curated programme of electronic music events.

Brought to life by the formidable trio of  Mark Newton, Dan Blackledge and Steve Allison - with fingers in the Metropolis, Wax: On and Reclaim the Dancefloor pies respectively - Canal Mills burst onto the Leeds events scene with purpose last year, and very quickly established itself as a leading light in the city's nightlife with a watertight programme of events that brought some of the leading names in underground electronic music to the red brick venue in its first few months.

Four months on from its launch and Canal Mills is showing no signs of running out of momentum. Looks like this former textiles mill has woven itself into the fabric of the city once again - and with Jamie XX, Chase & Status and Eats Everything just some of the names set to appear at the venue in the usually quiet month of January, we're confident that that's where they'll remain.

Here's what's coming up at Canal Mills in January:
