T in the park 2005 – bands announced & tickets on sale now!

T in the park has now confirmed the first wave of bands to play, including the headliners, and an impressive line-up it is too.

The line-up so far...

Foo Fighters, Green Day, Keane, Embrace, The Streets, Audioslave, Beautiful South, The Coral, The Killers, Prodigy, Kasabian, Ian Brown, Razorlight, and Scotland’s own Biffy Clyro.

Expect the announcement of many more bands and attractions across the coming weeks and months.

Tickets for this year’s T in the Park went on sale for a limited period in 2004 when festival organisers Big Day Out Ltd and founding partners Tennent’s Lager took the unprecedented move of putting 2005’s tickets on sale just one day after 2004’s event. During this month long limited buying period last summer, 33% of event tickets were sold. This astounding figure remains a testament to the festival’s consistent popularity and stature amongst global music fans even before any artists were revealed.

Geoff Ellis, CEO of festival organisers Big Day Out Ltd had this to say:

"This is the first time we’ve launched T in the Park with a third of tickets sold before the line-up had even been announced. I hope that those who already have their tickets, as well as those who have still to buy, are excited by the bands we have unveiled today. It’s fantastic to welcome back Green Day to the event - this time in a headline slot. Anyone who saw them live last night at the SECC will tell you that they are one of the hottest and most compelling live acts around today. In addition, we have already secured some of the biggest and best acts of the moment, including 2005 Brit award winners Keane and The Streets, with many more to be announced over the coming months.

The incredible success of the last two years of T in the Park has really placed the event as one of the best in the world. The line-up, the organisation and the beautiful surroundings enable us to compete with other festivals internationally, but it is the enthusiasm and passion of the T in the Park audience that sets it apart from all of the rest, and helps us to organise an event that Scotland can really be proud of. We look forward to seeing you all in July!"

George Kyle, Head of Sponsorship at Tennent’s Lager, continues:

"T in the Park has grown into an integral part of the world musical calendar, and this is due primarily to the inimitable atmosphere created by the legendary Balado crowd and the welcome they extend to the finest talent from around the world. Our thanks go to our partners Big Day Out Ltd for putting together another stunning line up of artists with yet more to be announced in the coming months. All of us here at Tennent’s Lager continue to be delighted by the event’s growth and success year on year. It continues to be the flagship of our ongoing dedication to our music programme, and it aptly reflects the passion displayed by the world’s music fans who keep making T in the Park their annual destination of choice."
