Q) Where and when was your 1st ever gig? How'd it go?

A) Pub in Manchester called The Burton Arms. It was about 1993 and Dave Gorman was MC. It went okay.

Q) Who/what were your main influences when you first started out as a comedian?

A)Frank Sidebottom and Bill Hicks

Q) What has been your biggest achievement to date?

A) I've never had a proper job, ever!

Q) If you weren't a stand up comedian what would you be?

A) I did a law degree so maybe a lawyer of some description or a teacher.

Q) What has been your favourite gig to date?

A) Kabul last year. Fourteen nights that were all incredible.

Q) And your worst?

A) A corporate gig for a mobile phone company in Harrogate. They had free drinks all day and I was on after the girl who came second in X Factor two nights earlier.

Q) Who is your favourite circuit comedian ATM? What new comedians should we watch out for?

A) Tom Wrigglesworth and Rob Rouse are both always great. There's a two great brand new acts in Manchester called Simon Lomas and Daniel Soff, a lad from St Helens called Stephen Lawson and a scouser called Simon Wozniak who I hear is superb.

Q) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A) Gigging

Q) Do you have anything to promote?

A) Just type New Comedians into iTunes and the podcast for my Comedy Store show (3rd Sunday of every month) is on there
