Mercury Prize 2026 to take place in Newcastle again

The Mercury Prize will remain in Newcastle for 2026.

It has been confirmed that the Mercury Prize will take place in Newcastle for 2026. It comes after the 2025 edition too the ceremony out of London for the first time, being held at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle.

This year's ceremony will take place on Thursday 22nd October, where one of twelve selected nominations will end up the winner. The 2025 award went to Sam Fender for his album People Watching, as he was able to take home the prize on his home turf.
