This month, Skiddle is travelling through time and space as we head to Glasgow, where none other than Scotland's favourite Easter fun fair resides. First launching in 2022, Galactic Carnival has leaped into success, becoming the place to be for the past three Easters in a row. Sprung out of a passion for bringing smiles to faces within the community, Galactic Carnival is the gift that keeps on giving.

To showcase just how much of a hidden gem this fun fair really is, we went behind the scenes with an exclusive interview with event organiser Zoe Taylor. As a proud Scott herself, Zoe champions bringing something fresh to the table for all to enjoy, and with an unreal amount of time and effort put into creating a team that shares the same values, Galactic Carnival has grown into something truly special for all to be proud of.

Debuting on Friday 28th March, and running through 'til the 21st April we got to know a little bit more about Zoe and her passions for Galactic Carnival, plus with the success that Galactic Carnival has had, and all the exciting new plans Zoe has in store to bring the fun and excitement across Scotland.

Located a short 20-minute drive outside Glasgow city centre, Green Car Park Silverburn is a large space that turns into a little haven of colourful escapism decorated with a strong space theme that you can see from the minute you enter the site. Filled with many rides, including a Ferris wheel, Dodgems, Waltzers, Tagada, Pendulums, and so many more to get your vocal cords working from the screams and laughter. When asked why Galactic Carnival is located in Glasgow, Zoe answered, "it made sense to bring it to our local community first."

Come rain or shine, Galactic Carnival never struggles to bring in a mega crowd of excitable Scotts looking to fulfill the thrills that they cannot get anywhere else. When reflecting on the choice for the name, Zoe revealed it's "an out-of-this-world experience, so Galactic Carnival just made sense!". With a concept that brings something new and different to Scotland, you can’t help but understand why people jump at the opportunity to get in on the fun.

Regarding what pushed Zoe to create Galactic Carnival, she was already familiar with the area with the Halloween edition, Spooktacular, which is a huge hit each year. However, Zoe wanted to expand the idea beyond scary themes, which started the development of Galactic Carnival. With the same concept that offered "great photo opportunities along with an unlimited ride wristband", Zoe felt an Easter fun fair was the perfect way to extend the unlimited fun while also giving "the public amazing value for money, especially with the cost of living."

When asked what she though sets Galactic Carnival apart from other fun fairs, Zoe was proud to state, "the fact that there is something for everyone, even for those who don’t wish to ride", which is something Galactic Carnival has always been boastful about, with the fun fair packed with "photo opportunities and character meet and greets along with great food on site." And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, their ethos to make Galactic Carnival easy on the pockets means that, "you can ride unlimited rides there is no pressure on families to spend more money once the have entered", so you don’t have to worry about splashing the cash.

It’s clear that it’s not just the customers that enjoy Galactic Carnival, with the joy spread to the workers around the site too, engaging with the fun around them,

"we love seeing people having a great time and interacting with the public!"

For those who aren’t familiar with the wonders of what happens in Scotland, Galactic Carnival is "a great experience for families and teenagers to experience the thrills and fun of the fair." When we asked Zoe to describe it in her own words, she said, "Galactic Carnival is always a great atmosphere, from visitors taking photos with our photo opportunities and meeting our characters to prize winning games for those who are not riding, which is also a huge hit!" Zoe also highlighted their endless amount of goodies, decorated with a selection of "desserts which includes freshly made churros, donuts and crepes."

For those who are worried about getting to Glasgow, the fun is just getting started as Galantic Carnival is heading to Edinburgh in May this year too. And the good news doesn’t just end there as Zoe also revealed that there will be "some more exciting events planned for the rest of 2025", so keep your eyes peeled on their socials so you don’t miss a single thing.
