Not sure where October went but the last month just seemed to pass me by in a flash, some record numbers through the doors of Mint Lounge for Funkademia, and some memorable moments. Halloween this year seemed to be a bigger celebration than Christmas, the one time a year everyone relaxes the dress code, and to see a lady dressed as a pack of cards walking across the dancefloor whilst a leather clad Michael Jackson look-a-like busted out some moves to James Brown will stay with me forever. Good times.

Its only Tuesday and we are already excited about the Fourteenth Birthday this Saturday at Mint Lounge, to help celebrate the occasion DJ Norman Jay will be playing a Good Times set at Funkademia. The Northern Funk room has been a hit with our regulars, this week our residents will be in the back room playing all the Funkademia classics. The night is sponsored by Bacardi so look out for the special cocktail treats on the bar. Tickets are available here but all the advance tickets are nearly gone. To avoid the sold out sign our advice is either grab a ticket whilst you can, or get there early, doors open at 10:30pm.

After hearing Scott Mills play a Christmas record on Radio One last night I do feel a bit better about announcing our New Years Eve plans this early. You will be pleased to know that we are at Mint Lounge for December 31st this year. Trafford Lovething and Les Croasdaile will join our residents in the main room, whilst Set in Stone take over the Northern Funk room for fun and frolics. The real deal is that we are releasing a limited number of fastest fingers first £5 tickets next week, Monday 9th November at 9am on here, be quick as once they have gone prices will go up to £10 each, and more towards the event.
