We’ve already given you a few suggestions for Father’s Day gifts this week but there’s no relenting on our generosity in this department. We’re now pointing you in the direction of the ultimate gift for the dad that loves the power of guitars, a ticket to the leg of the Hard Rock Calling Festival headlined by Bruce Springsteen.

Bruce Springsteen at Hard Rock Calling is becoming something of an institution, 'The Boss' having played in 2009 and returning to the festival one year after an impromptu duet with former Beatle Paul McCartney, bringing once more with him the E Street Band. Springsteen’s scintillating power rock and blue collar aesthetic has made him one of the defining voices of music since the seventies, and he remains one of the most enduringly powerful voices in rock circles. Check this footage, recorded at the festival in 2009, for an indication of the presence and impact he has.

Joining Bruce on the day will be support from the Black Crowes, Alabama Shakes, Passenger and many more, and as tub-thumping gifts go they don’t come much better than this. Already sorted giftwise for Sunday? Well do yourself the service instead then and be there at the front when Bruce delivers that undeniable power shriek.

The festival is of course a two day affair, with Kasabian the headliners the day before alongside the modfather himself, Paul Weller.
