The UK’s largest annual projection show returns to Edinburgh Castle this winter, and you can take advantage of a £10 ticket offer to attend on St Andrew’s Day.

Castle of Light returns to Edinburgh Castle this winter for its spectacular sixth edition, transforming Scotland’s most iconic landmark into a fortress of glowing colour, storytelling, and myth. Running on select dates from Friday 21st November 2025 to Sunday 4th January 2026, the installation will captivate audiences with interactive moments and atmospheric storytelling, thorugh an all-new show inspired by the elemental forces of fire and ice.
Visitors will journey through immersive light shows across the Castle grounds, gaining special “after dark” access to take in the breathtaking views while the larger-than-life installations unfold on the Castle walls, encountering mythical creatures within this fortress of light, from a mighty dragon soaring across the night sky to the Ice Queen herself in the Great Hall.
A special £10 ticket offer is available for all visitors attending on St Andrew’s Day, Sunday 30th November, making it the perfect time to see Edinburgh Castle in a whole new light, get tickets - HERE

Created by a consortium of Scotland’s leading digital artists and designers in partnership with Historic Environment Scotland, the Castle of Light continues to be a must-see for locals and visitors alike in Edinburghs packed festive schedule, and 2025’s Fire and Ice promises one of the most ambitious displays yet.
Blending cutting-edge creativity with centuries of Scottish heritage, this is THE time to gather your pals and experience the Castle’s architecture and atmosphere like never before.
Castle of Light will run every Friday and Saturday, starting on Friday 21 November 2025 until Sunday 4 January 2026, apart from Friday 26 December. The event will also run on Sunday 7 December, Sunday 14 December, Sunday 21, Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 December, Sunday 28, Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 December, and Sunday 4 January.
