Bandcamp takes a strong stand against AI content.

Bandcamp has shared a pledge to its community that music made substantially with AI will no longer be allowed on the platform. Pledging to "put human creativity first", it is a decisive step from the company.

The statement also mentions that the use of AI tools to impersonate other artists or styles will also be strictly prohibited. It's a win for the autonomy of artists. As argued on Skiddle before, the increase of AI usage within music and content generation has huge implications for the future of copyright, musician's income and more.
Deezer reported in 2025 that 28% of the music uploaded was made by AI, whilst BBC Introducing came under scrutiny for platforming an AI artist, on a channel which is supposed to champion and uplift human performers.
