Album launch show hosted by Clint Boon celebrates Rochdale’s musical heritage

A special one-off live show celebrating the musical history of Rochdale is taking place in March. Hosted by Clint Boon as part of this year’s Rochdale Music Stories campaign, which arrives on the heels of the town being named Greater Manchester’s Town of Culture, the event will feature local talent and special guest appearances from the Manchester music scene at Heywood Civic on Saturday 14th March. 

Rochdale Music Stories, launched by the Rochdale Development Agency in collaboration with The Stockport Music Story and Voltalab Sound Studios, will feature 14 local artists reimagining tracks recorded at Cargo and Suite Sixteen Studios for the upcoming album and limited-edition vinyl Rochdale Music Stories presents: Kenion Street. The artists behind the release will perform their renditions at a special one-off show at recently transformed Heywood Civic.

The local talent performing on the night include K-Estate, Micah Stalgic, Desyfer & Emma Konnanov, From The Ground Up, PoolEra, Medley, P*Starr, Blvckout, The Velvet Shadow, and Leo H. Former Inspiral Carpets frontman Clint Boon will host the event and talk to special guests like Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), Vox (The Chameleons) and Martin Moscrop (A Certain Ratio).
