There's so many amazing festivals out there but it can be difficult to work out which festivals you're going to attend. There's so many things to take into consideration - the location of the festival, the size of the festival, the genre of music, whether it's family friendly and the type of facilities onsite.
Skiddle's new Festivals Finder is here to make the process that bit easier. Simply use the Festivals Finder's unique festival search, which include options allowing you to search for festivals based on filters such as location; month; genres; type; size; accommodation; amenities and even the artists you've liked on Facebook!
Every once in a while on this scene of ours, the stars align and a new name spins out across the cosmos. In 2012 that name has been Laura Jones.
A protégé under the Visionquest banner and nurtured under the wings of Leftroom, Laura exploded into the public consciousness in 2011 with her deep and intrinsically melodic vision of house. Her "Live A Little" track was included on the ‘Visionquest Spring’ sampler, and her breakthrough single "Love In Me" stormed the Beatport chart and held the no.1 spot for several consecutive weeks – the second time courtesy of stellar remixes from Maceo Plex, Kate Simko and Eats Everything.
With both her music and DJ sets now resonating across dance floors worldwide from Fabric to DC-10, Laura has laid the groundwork for a successful career in the house scene. So far this year we've seen her remix of Hollis P Monroe’s classic ‘I’m Lonely’ on Noir Music, as well as ‘Inner Place’ on Crosstown Rebels, along with a full artist EP for Visionquest, which dots the I on this latest slate of music. Crossing the T on her climb through the DJ ranks is the ‘Leftroom presents Laura Jones’ mix compilation which, this appeared this April, allowing Laura to present a snapshot of the music which is helping to move her, literally, around the world.
