Since their formation in 2014, garage rock band Saint Agnes have released four sell-out singles, a live EP and cemented their place as London’s most exciting live band. They are a 4 piece based in East London fronted by boy/girl duo Kitty Arabella Austen and Jon Tufnell.
Saint Agnes play blistering doom with Zeppelin swagger. They combine combining the churning fuzz bass of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club with the dark blues interplay of The Kills and The Dead Weather.
Latest single ‘Merry Mother Of God Go Round’ was the second in a series following up the success of ‘Sister Electric’, which sold out its lathe cut vinyl release on pre-order.
A strong London following has been built with a high energy live act playing headline shows at; Oslo Hackney, Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen and the Sebright Arms. They have previously been hand picked to support LA Witch and Death Valley Girls who they are playing with on a European tour this summer. Festival appearances include Secret Garden Party, Cosmosis, Hackney Wonderland and Southsea Fest.
The band have recorded a live session for John Kennedy at Radio X and on the strength of it been invited to play his monthly showcase event. Other radio play includes; BBC Radio 6 (Lamacq), Virgin (Georgie Rogers), KEXP and Amazing Radio.
“Their raw chemistry proves as potent as ever as they dish out a grinding splurge of defiant rock n’ roll graffiti†Q Magazine
“Saint Agnes kick out the jams with a fervour and sense of purpose that's genuinely refreshing by shoving the blues through a mangle of 70s influenced psych and metal and then spewing them out in a multi-coloured spray.†The Quietus
“Psych-rock four-piece Saint Agnes have created a unique cinematic sound and a rock ’n’ roll Gothic image to match.†The Telegraph
"Their performance is dark, raw and charismatic. I couldn’t get rid of the impression that here I am watching possibly a new star being born. The feeling that, now, on stage something as different as Nirvana back in 90s and as iconic as Florence Welsh, in the noughties is taking shape." Rockshot
"For the first time today, we witness hired muscle been posted on the barriers stage front. This, if nothing else, should be taken as testament as to how hard this band have the punters rocking." Backseat Mafia
