Sun, sea, alcohol, and your favourite music live. It doesn’t get any better than that. And if there’s one place you can find this dreamy combination, it’s Portugal.

Known for its reliable weather (more than 300 sunny days a year, if you were wondering), stunning beaches, and lethal festival lineups, Portugal has become somewhat of a mecca for music lovers. Whether it’s EDM, metal, reggae, pop, rock or something entirely different, you can find it in Portugal.

Actually, that’s a bit of an understatement. Portugal is home to some of the world’s best music festivals, from the enormous Primavera Sound to the Hip-hop haven Rolling Loud to Neopop, the festival that’s on most European electronic music fans’ bucket lists. So if you’re after an unreal festival, Portugal is always a brilliant shout.

Overflowing with unbeatable festivals, at this point, it’s almost impossible to choose between them all. But that’s what we’re here for. So without any further ado, here are the best music festivals in Portugal.

Another festival with a massively diverse lineup, Primavera Sound Porto is one of Portugal's biggest parties of the year. Sharing a similar lineup to the slightly larger sister events in pain, the festival is a massive# and will see some of the biggest artists in the world smash its stages. It’s going to be colossal.

Amidst this diverse lineup, the festival is no stranger to some of the biggest names in the music world. This year, lucky ticket holders can look forward to Kendrick Lamar, Blur, Pusha T, Halsey, Pet Shop Boys, Rosalia, and much more. If you’re a music fan who’s open-minded about the genre, then Primavera Sound in Porto will blow you away.

Not only is the festival in an amazing location (who wouldn’t want to go to sunny Porto for a festival?) with an insane lineup, but Primavera was the first European festival to create a lineup with a 50:50 gender split. Primavera quite literally has it all.
