Happy New Year! We hope you're still not nursing a hangover from your big NYE sessions, but if so, what may help is a reminder that with a New Year, comes a whole new range of events and opportunities to have an epic night courtesy of Skiddle! That's right, we're back with our first edition of Skiddle Recommends 2024 for January, so you can start your year off with a bang at some epic events!
In this months Skiddle Recommends we've got a whole bunch of raves and parties across the country, so you hardcore lot don't have to slow down for even a second; a huge range of funny bone-bruising comedy for those of you doing dry January and not wanting a huge event (although for those of you that aren't, you can definitely still drink); as well as some of the very best touring bands tearing up a whole range of venues, including a few very special shows for Independent Venue Week. Basically, however you fancy starting your year, Skiddle will have something to satiate the craving.

Brought to you by Broken Minds, V Recordings & Weird Science, comes this epic celebration of one of the most illustrious Drum and Bass labels of all time. Since the '90s, V Recordings has consistently been at the forefront of the genre - particularly during its earlier days - and this celebration at the end of the month looks set to be an amalgamation of all the biggest and best the label has produced.
With sets from label bosses Bryan Gee (an interview with whom, in which he revealed the 6 times he thinks V changed the face of Drum and Bass, you can find - here) and Jumpin Jack Frost, to a 2-two-hour B2B with genre heavyweights Randall and Dillinja, to a whole host of other stomping bassy grooves, this night in Birmingham looks set to be among the very best on sale on Skiddle in Jan, grab tickets below!

Kicking off the New Year with a return to Club Lexis in Mansfield, the last event of which was a sellout, this Annual Payback Party from Ravers Reunited, with cheap tickets and heavy grooves, is looking set to be an absolute doozy. With a musical emphasis on Hardcore & Hardstyle, this one cannot be missed for those of you who like the boogie to be at a higher BPM. The CCC with Dan Nightingale 13th Jan '24

Where: St Marys Creative Space in Chester
The Comedians Club Chester is one of the best new comedy clubs in the North West. Laughter pours out of the incredible converted church that is St Mary's Creative Space for one Saturday every month and the gigs are hosted by one half of the Have A Word Podcast, Dan Nightingale. With this one being the last of 2023.
This time around, Dan will be joined by the Mancunian rising star Harry Stachini; the one-man-band musical comedy machine, Duncan Oakley; with the effortlessly hilarious Canadian legend that is Glenn Wool headlining. It's going to be a cracker in the New Year in Chester, grab your tickets now!

Under 18's Rave - Ayr - Oakzy B x Lugzy x MC Tiny
When: Saturday 27th January 2024
If you're a Scot who's not yet old enough to head and and rave among the masses, but you still want to get your groove on this month, then look no further. Two giants of the Scottish Rave scene: Twisted and I Am A Raver, are joining forces for one night only in Ayr with Scotland's three biggest MCs!
LUGZY, Oakzy B, DJ Zitkus will be spitting over some massive Hardcore, Hardstyle, and Hard Dance beats and you can get your steps in before heading out to the big leagues. For fans of the hard and heavy beats of DnB and Jungle, there are few events in the whole of January that come in touching distance of this aptly named Bedlam Night in Bournemouth. They are truly kicking 2024 off with both barrels firing as Hybrid Minds, Kanine, Sota, Charlie Tee, and so many more serious spinners coming to the O2 Academy for a night of... well, Bedlam!
