Review of Whitney Queen Of The Night

Brilliant night, the whole cast were amazing, I just felt it didn't last long enough.  There should have been something else on even if it was a disco after the show as everyone was a bit deflated it was over.  Drinks were over priced and limited.

The performance was let down by the venue.  There were 2 main issues - the acoustics and the audience.  The venue is not purpose built for such a gig and is better described as an industrial unit.  The acoustics were poor but further let down by a lot of people talking and shouting which were a major distraction.  Perhaps they should have been at the pub instead.  I have seen this act before at a better venue so I can recommend the show..... just not at this venue.

Absolutely amazing, great show, great singer, great band. 
The staff at the venue were good too but thought there could have been more staff working at the bars as were a little slow during busy times - but overall was excellent, would definitely go again!

We watch lots of live music throughout the year (approximately every two weeks). This was our first visit to the Rainton Arena (and probably our last). The entrance area was very congested with people trying to get inside, people coming back inside from either having a smoke or buying hot food, people coming in and out of the toilets and topped-up with people overspilling from the bar queues inside. 

Once we sat down we couldn't believe how raucous the audience were before the show started but we were confident that they would calm down once the show began. How wrong we were. Once the show started we struggled to hear Whitney's voice, such was the loud talking all around us. Our stares of disapproval had no affect on anyone around us, so we endured the first 2 or 3 songs hoping that things would get better.

When we did manage to hear the songs more clearly (particularly when the culprits had gone back to the bar) we were disappointed. The songs had obviously been adapted to suit her voice and the notes that she could reach (she obviously has a restricted singing voice range and cannot hit the higher notes). A lot of the vocal work was being done by the backing singers and if it hadn't have been for Whitney's costume changes it would have felt more like a night at the local social club.

We've seen a couple of other Whitney tributes and we would rate Nya King as being the best by far, and amazing in comparison to Whitney Queen Of The Night.

Sorry that we can't be any more positive about the venue or the show.

BTW, we left at the interval because of experience up to that point.

Absolutely brilliant show, venue very poor service, they double booked our seats so just before the show started we had to find our own seats

Booked this for my wife as a Xmas present. We loved this and the show is well worth seeing. Atmosphere was really good. Defo recommend.
