Forgoing warmer climes, Butterz regular Flava D will be spending her summer in London after accepting the offer to be the next guest resident and curator within the acclaimed XOYO residency series, which has previously been undertaken by likes of Ben UFO, Skream, Andy C, Bicep and Artwork.
Flava D, real name Danielle Gooding, is no stranger to offering a varied palette of sounds. As demonstrated on her Fabriclive 88 mix and countless club sessions, she's equally adept at traversing harder club styles such as her ‘In the Dance’ and remix of ‘Rhythm & Gash’ as she is at making the smooth and bumpy UK garage of ‘More Love’. So, expect a full range of the garage, grime and bassline she's known for, plus house, drum n' bass, hip hop, UK Funky and more besides.
The three month Friday night residency begins on 6th July with guests including bassline champion Skepsis. Other highlights include drum n bass don Calibre the following Friday, plus a UK garage session with Heartless Crew and Todd Edwards. The Hospital Records crew will also stop by for a showcase featuring Metrik, Logistics, B-Complex and S.P.Y. on Friday 3rd August.
You can also catch West London grime superstar AJ Tracey and Sir Spyro on Friday 10th August, whilst grime godfather Wiley, Mike Skinner of The Streets join her on 17th August. The grand finale on 28 Sept sees the supergroup that is TQD (Royal-T, DJ Q and Flava D) appear alongside P Money. Expect some surprise guest appearances and fresh announcements throughout the 13 weeks.
