XOYO: A look at Birmingham’s newest club and its upcoming events

XOYO Birmingham officially launches on the 15th of September before launching into events with Stanton Warriors, Interplanetary Criminal, and many more.

The team behind London’s XOYO, one of the best clubs in London, is launching a brand new club, also named XOYO, in Birmingham. The venue has stated it’s, “Created by and for the people of Birmingham” and that it’ll “serve as a vibrant hub where creativity, music and community converge.”

Birmingham's hottest new clubbing destination will take over three sites - The Yard, the Roof Garden, and the Main Room - at Digbeth’s Lower Trinity Street, creating a multi-room venue with a capacity of 3,000. Following its full refurb, the venue will focus on creating safe, inclusive spaces for music fans to enjoy the best electronic events.

Set to welcome huge names including Shy FX, Sammy Virji, Ben Hemsley, and so many other titans of the scene, it won’t be long before XOYO cements itself as one of the best clubs in Birmingham.

But it won’t only be the home of electronic music. Other artists confirmed to perform at the venue include Sundara Karma, The View, Black Grape, and The Royston Club, amongst others.

And since no big club is complete without a stunning audio-visual spectacle, d&b Audiotech provides the main room with a killer soundsystem with extra subs so you can really feel that bass thumping in your chest and rippling through your skull, while the 360-degree laser system will take you to another universe.

So when does it open?

XOYO Birmingham will have two official launch parties. The first goes down on Friday the 15th of September 2023 with Fabio & Grooverider, Charlie Tee, Jungle Cakes Takeover, 4am Kru (live), Crazy P (DJ set), Frenetic, and more to kick everything off with a huge bang. 1,000 free tickets (500 for each night) will be available, with the other 1,000 tickets (500 each night) at just £5 each.

Some other upcoming autumn events at the brand new club include Café Mambo Ibiza, Pure Garage, Cirque Du Sol, Stanton Sessions with Stanton Warriors, A Weird & Wonderful Halloween Indoor Festival, Interplanetary Criminal, and more.

And if all that didn’t already get you giddy for opening night, the venue also has hi-tech self-service bar machines that can serve double mixers in six seconds, so you can forget waiting at the bar and missing your favourite tunes.

It goes without saying this is a venue any Brummie just has to try for themselves.
