UK comedy's biggest month, The Edinburgh Fringe, is done and dusted. While summer is beginning to pack its bags too, the country's comedians are unpacking theirs, returning from Scotland armed with finely tuned shows, questionable sleep schedules, and plenty of new material.

Thankfully, September's comedy calendar isn't letting the post-summer blues settle in. This month's edition of The Last Laugh brings everything from Adam Rowe bringing his mates to cause chaos in Chester, to seasoned comics like Lucy Porter and Alfie Brown bringing their brand-new shows across the country; throw in some stacked club nights, charity showcases, and huge multi-act bills, and you've got an absolute doozy of a month for comedy.

So, embrace the return of darker evenings, get yourself indoors, and scroll on for some of the best comedy events on sale through Skiddle this September.

Matt Bragg leads a cracking lineup featuring Scottish rising star Liam Farrelly, the brilliantly charismatic Josephine Lacey, and is hosted by Closeup comedy stalwart and Dead Men Talking host Freddy Quinne. With four excellent comics heading to one of the area's newest venues, it's a pretty convincing reason to make Thursday night your new Friday.
