This month has absolutely turned the heat up, and July is showing only more of the same. Beer gardens are overflowing, fans are working overtime, and the country seems to have collectively agreed that being indoors is overrated. Luckily, the comedy calendar has followed suit, with outdoor festivals, open-air shows, and stacked club line-ups giving you every excuse to make the most of the sunshine before it inevitably disappears again.

This month's edition of The Last Laugh is all about the best comedy events in July. From castle comedy spectaculars and city-wide festivals to club nights featuring the likes of Ross Noble, Tom Stade, Stephen Bailey, and Allyson June Smith, July is packed with opportunities to laugh your way through the hottest month of the year.

Comedy at the Castle - Powderham Castle, Exeter

When: Friday 17th – Sunday 19th July 2026

Where: Powderham Castle in Exeter

Closup Comedy is bringing the South-West a weekend-long summer show to the stunning grounds of Powderham Castle, featuring a stacked cast of giggle-inducing acts at the top of their game. 

Joanne McNally opens Friday night with a stacked supporting cast that includes Janine Harouni, Hal Cruttenden, and Daniel Foxx; Paul Smith brings huge crowd energy on Saturday with Angela Barnes, Gbemi Oladipo, and Stephen Bailey; and Al Murray closes Sunday with Hayley Ellis, Scott Bennett, and Thomas Green; Freddy Quinne hosts throughout.

Creatures Comedy Festival

When: Thursday 23rd - Friday 31st July 2026

Where: Creatures Comedy Club in Manchester

Creatures Comedy Festival comes from Manchester’s most brilliant comedy basements this July, bringing a hefty run of over 35 stand-up, work-in-progress shows, showcases, and rising talent to Oldham Street.

With names including Maisie Adam, Brennan Reece, Dan Tiernan, Rob Auton, Horatio Gould, Lorna Rose Treen, and more appearing across the programme, this is a proper comedy-head week in the city, run by some of the best in the biz. Check out the full programme and grab tickets in the link below!

Laugh in the Park 2026 - Glasgow’s Southside Comedy Festival

When: Saturday 11th and Sunday 26th July 2026

Where: Queens Park Arena in Glasgow

Laugh in the Park returns to Queens Park Arena for its sixth year, bringing Glasgow Southside a pair of open-air comedy blowouts packed with some of Scotland’s favourite comics.

Part one brings the likes of Raymond Mearns, Scott Agnew, Jo Jo Sutherland, Jay Lafferty, Amanda Dwyer, Mikey Motion, and Jack Traynor, all hosted by Billy Kirkwood. Then, due to demand, part two follows with a fresh lineup including Susie McCabe, Mark Nelson, Mark Jennings, John Gavin, Paul McDaniel, Kim Blyth, James Gardner, Beth Knight, and more. Big summer setting, hearty Scottish humour, and two stacked bills to supply it all, this is what Scottish summer is all about.

Kings Heath Comedy Festival

When: Thursday 23rd - Sunday 26th July 2026

Where: Hare And Hounds Kings Heath in Birmingham

Kings Heath Comedy Festival lands in it's prizes corner of Birmingham this July, bringing a packed weekend of stand-up, work-in-progress shows, character comedy, brunch madness, cult concepts, and proper comedy club chaos to one of Birmingham’s best-loved venues.

The bill at the Hare and Hounds is supplied by Skiddle, and they've got everything from a launch show with Rosie Jones, Josh Pugh and Lindsey Santarno, to shows inclduing Stuart Goldsmith’s Canary, Rob Kemp’s Beatlesjuice, Eric Rushton, Dane Buckley, Dee Allum, and loads more across the weekend. Basically, if you want a comedy festival with variety, personality, and no shortage of reasons to camp out in Kings Heath, this is the one.

Just The Tonic Comedy Club Special with Ross Noble - Morecambe

When: Friday 3rd July 2026

Where: The Platform in Morecambe

Just The Tonic brings a properly special comedy night to Morecambe this July, with Ross Noble topping the bill at The Platform, a restored Edwardian railway station turned live entertainment venue.

Noble remains one of the great spontaneous stand-ups, a comic who can turn surreal tangents into full-blown flights of fancy before you have even caught up with the first punchline. With Ben Silver and Jon Pearson also on the bill, you'll struggle to find comedy events in July that can go pound-for-pound on laughs as this one.

Morecambe Bay Fringe Festival

Morecambe Bay Fringe Festival brings a huge spread of fringe fun to the seaside this July, with comedy, performance, theatre, cabaret, spoken word, and oddball live entertainment popping up across the town.

With over 70 events on the programme, it is one of those festivals built for taking a punt on something new. From intimate theatre rooms and local venues to acts tackling everything from wordplay and character comedy to darker, more personal storytelling, Morecambe Bay Fringe is packed with the sort of discoveries that make fringe festivals so addictive, and you can guarentee you're funny bone will be getting a thorough massage across its two weeks.

The Laughienda kicks July off nicely over in Preston, bringing yet another night of cracking comedy to The Continental with a stacked lineup headed up by the gossipy hilarity of TV star Stephen Bialey, and the gloriously daft Eric Rushton.

Allyson June Smith heads to Breakneck Comedy this July for two nights of her sassy and insightful blend of in-your-face stand-up in one of Aberdeen’s best comedy spaces.

A former teacher turned comic, Smith has long been a force on the Canadian comedy scene, and this Aberdeen date will see the city's comedy faithful exposed to her genuinely unique sense of humour that has made audiences collapse in laughter across the globe. Tap Select comedy is back this July, and they are only bringing every comedy lover's favourite Canadian, Tom Stade, along with them!

Stade is one of those comics who knows exactly how to own a room, mixing his big-stage swagger with the sort of loose, no-filter delivery that culminates in mischievous and uncompromising comedy that is impossible not to love.
