Oof, we don’t know about you, but we’ve only just about recovered from the absolute carnage of New Year’s Eve. But now that our heads are better and we’re hydrated once again, we reckon it’s time to start filling this brand new year with fun, don’t you?

Guz Khan: Live

When: Thursday 26th January 2023

Where: Royal and Derngate in Northampton

Bringing his big-screen persona and BAFTA-nominated glee, Guz Khan is touring the country with his brand-new stand-up show - Guz Khan Live. Where he will be channelling the lived experience of his life in comedy into a show of seismic hilarity.

Joining the TV comedy icon, and hosting the night's proceedings, will be none other than Kane Brown, a household name on the Uk comedy circuit whose uniting style and brutally honest observations are an asset to any show. 

The vast majority of this tour has sold-out and Northampton is one of the few shows remaining with tickets left, so don't even think about it grab those tickets and get yourself down, you wont wanna miss out.

Pip Blom - The Independent Venue Week tour

When: Friday 27th January 2023

Where: Bootleg Social in Blackpool

Another edition of the awesome Independent Venue Week happening in early 2023, comes Pip Blom with her first-ever appearance in Blackpool as the grace the stage of the Bootleg Social. Hailing from Amsterdam, Pip Blom has come on leaps and bounds in the past few years, crafting a sound reminiscent of Courtney Barnett and The Breeders. Having released their second album, Welcome Break, just last year, which was met with widespread acclaim, Pip Blom and co are on a path to greatness, and you are unlikely o see them in a venue this size again -  but that's what Independent Venue Week is all about!

Best of Enemies

When: Monday 14th November 2022 - Saturday 18th February 2023

Where: Noel Coward Theatre in London

The sold-out, critically acclaimed and multiple award-winning hit, Best of Enemies has transferred to the west end and is getting rave reviews. Zachary Quinto (The Boys in the Band, Star Trek, Heroes) makes his London stage debut playing left-wing icon Gore Vidal, with David Harewood (Homeland, Super Girl, Ten Percent) reprising his role as the right-wing figurehead William F. Buckley Jr.

The play goes something like this. It's 1968 – a year of protest that divided America. As two men fight to become the next President, all eyes are on the battle between two others: the cunningly conservative William F. Buckley Jr., and the iconoclastic liberal Gore Vidal. Beliefs are challenged and slurs slung as these political idols feud nightly in a new television format, debating the moral landscape of a shattered nation. Little do they know they're about to open up a new frontier in American politics; transforming television news forever…

Kula Shaker

Where: Camp And Furnace in Liverpool

Following the release of their acclaimed double album '1st Congregational Church of Eternal Love (and free hugs)’ and off the back of a year of touring in Europe and Japan, Kula Shaker are heading to Camp and Furnace in Liverpool this January, and it promises to be a psychedelic dream of a night. So light up the incense, break out the tie-dye, relive the days of Kula Shaker's infancy, and remember why they got so big in the first place.

Shangri-La Presents: DEFECTED

The awesome team over at Shangri-La are no strangers to a wicked night, and on the last weekend of January, they are back at Cardiff Depot again for a night of unruly antics and the grooviest of moves. On the bill are the likes of the fantastic Sam Devine, Mele, and even Prunk.

This one looks set to blow the roof off, and we can't think of a better venue for it to be at. So all you welsh house heads give yourself a reality check, as dry Jan isn't all that isn't made up to be really, and by this point in the month, it's probably already been broken. So, get down and secure those tickets for a night of the very best in debauchery and dancing.

Bedlam presents the Mega Rave

Where: Cardiff University Students' Union in Cardiff

For all you Welsh Drum and Bass Wizards there are few raves like this one on the calendar this year, and to come right at the start of the year, we can't think of many better to kick off 2023. There are some bass-fuelled legends on this lineup, with the likes of Wilkinson, Shy FX, Friction, and Sammy Virji spinning the tunes; must we say more?

If not yet convinced, the venue of choice is Cardiff's excellent student union, so if you're a student in the city, you'll already know how messy nights in this gaff can get. So, if you're partial to a skank and your gun fingers have been MIA for a bit, then get those tickets and head down to this event, you wont regret a thing.

Cirque Du Soul: Leeds // The Road to El Dorado // O'Flynn + more

Roll up, roll up and step into the magical world of Cirque Du Soul as the fantastic team over there will be presenting their annual 'The Road to El Dorado Tour! They'll be transforming the iconic warehouse of Beaverworks in Leeds into a mythical jungle playground as they bring you a small slice of the magic you can expect from the El Dorado Festival this summer!

On the lineup is the likes of the imminently groovy beat of O'Flynn, who was recently hailed by Boiler Room as one of dance music’s most exciting producers, as well as the iconic drum and bass collective, Jungle Cakes, Made up of Ed Solo, Deekline, Benny Page and Navigator.

Joshua Brooks presents Mike Skinner [DJ Set]

What a treat this is! The insanely iconic Brummy, Mike Skinner, best known for the music project the Streets, comes to Joshua Brooks this January for a DJ set that will have every lucky punter in attendance for a night of pure unabridged vibes, as he spins tracks from the genres of House, UK Garage, Bassline, and 90s.

There are few chances to see such huge artists and musical figures in such an intimate space, plus, who doesn't want to get the chance to see whats on Mr Skinner's playlist?

Motion is an incredible rave venue in Bristol. So incredible, in fact, it came in at 20th place on DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs list, which even includes legendary Ibiza clubs. 

Head over to Motion this January to enjoy banging house tunes from 10 pm all the way up to 5 am. High energy from the moment they step on the decks until it’s time for a kebab and bed, we’ve got Melé, Honeyluv, Big Miz b2b Charlie Boon, Ellis Roberts, and more to look forward to. 

Have a good dinner and go easy at pres because this one’s going to be huge. And you’ll definitely want to remember every second!

CRUCAST- Birmingham - Lab 11 - Saturday 28th January 2023

Where: LAB11 in Birmingham

LAB11 is one of the UK’s best clubbing venues. A huge, award-winning warehouse complex, LAB11 has been a firm favourite of the rave scene since its inception in 2012. 

And this particular event on the 27th welcomes Crucast to take over the Warehouse and Terrace spaces, blasting UKG, drum and bass, bassline, and similar genres to bucket loads of eager ravers. 

It’s going to be a super heavy night you won’t forget any time soon. But to be in with a chance of going, you need to get those tickets secured before they run out. There are less than 20% of tickets left, so be snappy!

Bingo Lingo - Cardiff

Mecca daubers at the ready! Bingo Lingo is back in Cardiff and, as to be expected, it’s going to be chaotic. 

If you’re unfamiliar with Bingo Lingo, let us give you a rundown of some of the mischief this beautiful game can bring. You can expect stage performers, cheesy bangers, on-stage dance battles, general bizarre activity, and wacky prizes. There’ll be confetti drops, booze, and loads of laughs. You can’t go wrong.

Break in the new year properly with your best mates at your side, a bev in hand, and a bingo card in front of you. Sing your heart out, have a laugh, and maybe even take home a mad prize.

Hidden is a truly amazing club on the outskirts of Manchester. When you’re a little tipsy, diving in and out of all those rooms and exploring this mystical complex - well, it’s simply mind-blowing. So kick off 2023 in style and head over for their wild drum and bass, dubstep, grime, bass, and jungle rave this January.

The tunes will be spread across all three of its floors, with sets from Strategy, T Man, DJ Caspa, MC Strategy, Sparkz, The Caracal Project, and many more. The party starts at 11 pm and booms on until 4 am, so strap in for a late one!

If all the chaos of the festive season and New Year’s Eve has got you a bit worried about your liver and making you wish you went through the bevs a bit slower, maybe you wouldn’t mind stepping away from the raves, gigs, and pubs for a bit. Roller skating is a fantastic replacement for all of those. 

You’ll skate around to house, hip hop, afrobeat, disco, and R&B tunes. All in one go, you’ll be staying active, having fun, enjoying tunes, and laughing with your pals. There’s also a diner and bar if you fancy a refuel before hitting the rink again.

Digital Society 2023: Winter Edition

The Warehouse in Leeds is a cracking rave venue. If you like the liberating, euphoric tones of trance music and escaping into the layers of rhythm in prog house, The Warehouse is the place to be this January. 

Be hypnotised by state-of-the-art lighting, colourful lasers, the LED screen and, of course, the killer sound system. Sam Mitcham, Ronski Speed, Sneijder, Lange, John O’Callaghan & Bryan Kearney, and Paul Pearson will rattle the bass through your skeleton all night long. Intimate, banging, and with solid names on the lineup, this one’s going to be stunning.

Def:inition - GOSH Children's Charity D&B + Jungle Fundraiser

Where: Electric Brixton in London

The only thing that beats a rave is knowing you did it for a good cause. Def:inition’s party will serve as a fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Children's Charity. So you can skank out to some filthy drum and bass and jungle while knowing you’re helping a cracking charity. 

From 11 pm to 6 am, you’ll be treated to the sounds of all sorts of amazing artists, including Ego Trippin, Bryan Gee, Basslayerz, Harry Shotta, Mozey, and many more. 

So far, you DnB and jungle heads have raised £56,000 for charity and here’s your chance to raise it up another level so GOSH can continue helping around 600 young people each day. See you on the dancefloor!

The Mild High Club LIVE TALENT SHOW!

Where: Phase One in Liverpool

The Mild High Club is a hilarious podcast featuring comedians discussing some topics including mental health, drugs, news, sex and more but with a funny spin on it. Taking their show to Liverpool’s Phase One, Dean Coughlin, Amy-Le Owens, and William Thompson are guaranteed to leave you in stitches. 

And if that wasn’t enough, they’ll welcome some of the UK’s best comedians to the stage for one-minute-long performances that could be quite literally anything. At the end, there’ll be a live interview where they’ll be in with a chance of winning the cash prize. Will they gamble to try to double their money? You’ll have to head over and find out yourself!

Techno Belters X Enhanced Presents: AZYR

Scotland loves a bit of techno. So of course Edinburgh’s legendary Liquid Room had to start 2023 with a huge techno bang. Coming to Liquid Room’s main room, Techno Belters X Enhanced presents North West England’s up-and-comer AZYR. Young AZYR has already begun making a name for himself up and down the UK and is known for his high-energy sets and testing out dark, industrial, acid, rave, and psytrance sounds throughout.

Born On Road - Brighton

Born On Road is a record label and DJ collective that’s all about underground jungle and drum and bass. Established in 2013, Born On Road has developed a reputation as the collective that know how and where to find the best tunes. 

This January, the tastemakers will be landing in Brighton’s Concorde 2, packing out the dancefloor until 4 am. On the lineup, we can look forward to Aries, Bish, Kelvin 373, and Selecta J-Man

Worried About Henry presents Hedex Newcastle

It seems Hedex's name has been everywhere over the past year or so. Festivals, tours, massive raves - he's been everywhere. And it looks like he doesn’t plan on slowing down in 2023, kicking it all off with a big session at Digital in Newcastle. 

Presented by possibly the UK's biggest and best-respected drum and bass events company, Worried About Henry, Hedex will be headlining the evening with help from Voltage, Mozey, Kaz, and JTD B2B GH. Expect it to be fast-paced, full of energy, and… well, bloody lovely!

Hybrid Minds

Liquid drum and bass titans Hybrid Minds, known for their bangers Touch, Let Me Hold You, Solitude, and Castles, are taking over Tank in Sheffield later this month. 

Tank is a killer underground venue known for keeping the party jumping until the early hours. It’s also established itself as the perfect venue for fans of house and drum and bass, so it only makes sense to catch Hybrid Minds there! 

Definitely one of the best events in January 2023, this electric duo are certain to get everyone on the dancefloor, losing it together to some super tasty tunes until the sun starts to rise.
