A virtual smorgasbord of Freshers parties, Halloween events and much more awaits in this week's New On Skiddle - featuring a slew of live performances from an array of DJ greats

Freshers Week is closing in fast on all you prospective degree students out there, about to begin your first academic year at university this month, whilst Halloween is also now just a few weeks away (Seven to be precise). It's an especially exciting time of year as the festival season comes to an end, the nights draw in and the party heads back inside. And let's just say, there's no shortage of said indoor events to get stuck into...

The amount of brand spanking new happenings coming through Skiddle is wholly unprecedented. From wild freshers parties and all-night raves, to live gigs, cabaret shows, theatre productions... the list just keeps on growing. Below, you'll find a very limited selection of some of our favourites, set to rock venues and nightclubs UK wide over the next four months and into the new year.

Wile Out Festival 2022

When: Saturday 9th July 2022

Where: Towneley Park Burnley BB11 in Burnley

Burnley's Wile Out Festival has announced plans to return to its native Towneley Park home in the summer of 2022, taking over 180 hectares of stunning green parkland once again for an unforgettable day-long experience.

Providing the biggest names in drum n bass, house, bassline and more, next year's event looks to top this year's later-than-usual edition, which saw headline sets from the likes of UKG legend DJ EZ, Joel Corry, Sigma, Sam Divine and Low Steppa to name a few.

Milton Keynes Reggae Festival 2022

When: Saturday 30th - Sunday 31st July 2022

Where: Campbell Park in Milton Keynes

The Milton Keynes Reggae Festival is the biggest annually held reggae event in Southern England. A celebration of reggae music, sound system and Caribbean culture, the family-friendly event frequently offers an exceptional bill of acclaimed performers over two huge marquee stages, as well as some of the finest authentic cuisine and more. 

Returning to Campbell Park, the festival will welcome up to 10,000 ragga, dub and roots music fans to skank through day and night over one weekend in July next year. Don't miss out - tickets are on sale now.

Circus presents Trick Halloween

Where: Blackstone Street Warehouse in Liverpool

Liverpool dance brand, Circus has teamed up with Patrick Topping's Trick label to bring an epic Halloween shindig to the dance contingent of Liverpool this autumn. 

Commandeering the city's historic Blackstone Street Warehouse on Saturday 30th October, the two brands will invite a hair-raising list of renowned names, the likes of Eats Everything, KiNK (live), Fjaak, Elliot Adamson, Ammara and Patrick Topping, to stress test the almost-certainly haunted arched building.

Prepare for plenty of tricks and treats at this unearthly 9-hour all-day rave.

Get Funky w/ Jackmaster

When: Friday 1st October 2021

Where: Portland House Bank And The Vaults in Cardiff

Glaswegian house DJ, Jackmaster will arrive in the Welsh capital this October for a special one-off show at one of Wales' best-loved underground dance venues - The Vaults. 

The renowned selector, a self-confessed superfan of Detroit techno and avid collector of disco and funk rarities, has become famed for his versatility behind the decks and ability to read a room. Approaching each performance with an open mind, he's able to piece together seemingly contrasting sounds and styles in order to produce a performance that is as intriguing as it is mesmerising. 

A real specialist in the trade - expect to hear the best cuts in tech house, deep house, disco and funk, garage, bass house and more.

Retro In The Park 2022

When: Saturday 2nd July 2022

Where: Towneley Park Burnley BB11 in Burnley

DJ Paul Taylor - head honcho of house music brand, Retro - has revealed his plans to throw a huge party on the grounds of Burnley's Towneley Park in the summer of next year. 

Set to feature an array of expert displays from a host of acclaimed dance music titans, in addition to a list of local talents, the day-long event will honour the 'The pioneers of the classic house sound' and the brands continued success - now celebrating almost three decades in the business.

From the production to the lineup - this is one very special experience with your closest friends you can't afford to miss.

Groovebox x Hot Since 82

Where: NG ONE Night Club in Nottingham

Expect a packed out, full capacity crowd and mind-blowing production, as Groovebox returns to its home at NG-ONE in Nottingham this October with a couple of noteworthy names in tow...

Taking charge of headline duties at the upcoming event, internationally-renowned DJ Hot Since 82 will bring the heat spinning some of his biggest hits to date - the likes of 'Buggin', 'Heater' and his most recent release, 'Alba'. Support on the night comes from Newcastle born and bred, DJ and producer duo, Portmanteau. For those that have never seen Port Manteau live before let us be the first to say, you're in for a treat.

Expect a night of turbocharged sets from two of the most exciting names on the UK's electronic scene.

Groovebox Halloween

When: Saturday 30th October 2021

Where: NG ONE Night Club in Nottingham

If you're into heavy house or tech house being pumped through enormous sound systems, and you're as crazy about spooky affairs as the rest of us here at Skiddle are, then Groovebox this Halloween is the place for you. 

Hosting their biggest headliner to date, Groovebox are set to welcome a bonafide legend of the UK house music scene, Hannah Wants to one of the weirdest Halloween parties in the East Midlands.

Summoning the dark energy on the night and providing a frighteningly impeccable soundtrack stocked with nothing but club bangers, the self-taught Birmingham based DJ don will also see support from a list of yet-to-be-announced names. Watch this space.

Solardo presents HIGHER Halloween

When: Saturday 30th October 2021

Where: MainYard Gateshead Stadium (Grounds) in Gateshead

Prolific DJ and producer duo, Solardo bring an enormous lineup to the North-East next month to celebrate the pagan holiday of all hallows eve.

The massive Halloween event at MAINYARD, Gateshead, situated within the grounds of Gateshead International Stadium, will see a killer lineup of globally renowned selectors entertaining the crowds from 2 pm until 11 pm on Saturday 30th October.

Amongst those confirmed to appear alongside the pair are the likes of Fjaak, Nic Fanciulli, Pan-Pot and Sosa. Expect nothing but vibes - albeit spooky ones - at this mega Halloween affair.

Denis Sulta - We're Back Baby UK autumn tour

Norwich Freshers Fest 2021

When: Monday 20th September - Sunday 3rd October 2021

Where: Various Venues (AfterDark Promotions) in Norwich

A HUGE fortnight of Freshers events is less than two weeks away from commencing and just in case you hadn't already noticed, Norwich Freshers Fest 2021 looks completely off the chain.

Boasting ten eye-opening events, including a full moon party, a ball pit party, an all American House party, a Tik Tok party (Yea we have no idea either but it sounds great) and some notable live performances from high profile names the likes of Tim Westwood and drum n bass specialist, Wilkinson - it's a fourteen rampage of pure freshers carnage.
