There are very few names operating within the global electronic music scene who can boast a still thriving and successful career spanning more than three decades. One of those happens to be DJ Zinc.

The forty-nine-year-old Londoner, born Benjamin Pettit, has quite literally seen and done it all. A trailblazer at the forefront of the jungle and drum n bass movement of the nineties (Click to listen to arguably one of the biggest UK jungle anthems, 'Super Sharp Shooter' on the video link below), he's also turned his unparalleled skill to producing and performing various other sounds as he's continued to hone his expertise over the years - from breakbeat to UK garage, ragga, hip hop and lately, house music.

A renowned serial collaborator, Zinc has racked up a score of noteworthy production credits with an array of renowned talents since day one. Artists the likes of DJ Hype, MJ Cole, Krust and contemporary names, My Nu Leng, Chris Lorenzo and rapper Niomi Arleen Daley AKA Ms Dynamite, have all bent over backwards to get in the studio with the bonafide legend, whose sound has become an instantly recognisable one in the British dance music scene.

As if that wasn't enough, he's also occupied the airwaves via a number of acclaimed radio stations, from Rinse FM to BBC Radio One, creating numerous 'Essential Mixes' for Pete Tong, and held residency's at nightclubs across the world, including Desire at London's iconic and sadly now-defunct, Roller Express.

Continuing his residency legacy, the pioneering DJ confirmed that he would head up a four-week-long takeover of Shoreditch clubbing destination, XOYO at the back end of last year. Now into week two, with his second performance scheduled to run this weekend (Friday 14th January 2022), those who decide to venture out to witness Zinc doing what he does best can also expect to see flawless sets from Eksman, Randall, DJ Swift, Clockwork and many more.
