Top of the morning to you. Yes, we’re talking to you the beautiful people of Ireland; more specifically Dublin. Cherished for your wit and charm, potatoes and of course Guinness. Dublin has been giving us gems from the jump, and now it’s time to return the favour with a list of the best festivals in Dublin. 

With some good craic like Longitude, to more newer festivals like In The Meadows, we have a pretty wide range of stuff to keep you entertained this summer. So get the bank accounts at the ready (or savings if it’s looking a bit spare), and feats your eyes on the musical bangers Dublin has to offer. 

 

 

 

 

 

Longitude

Got to start the list off strong and boy is this festival a big contender as one of the best festivals in Dublin. For 11 years Longitude has been running an incredible weekend-long festival that consists of nothing but standout acts and even better stage performances. After previously having some iconic names gracing their three stages, they’ve only gone and done it again with more stellar acts to bring you nothing but spectacular scenes. From  Central CeeDoja Cat21 SavageBecky Hillblkand loads more. 

Situated just a small drive away from Dublin in Marley Park, this festival is somewhat of a marvel and with a weekend's worth of fun it’d be criminal to miss.

Back for its 11th edition, is Forbidden Fruit Festival, a festival located so close to Dublin you can almost taste it. Forbidden Fruit is an unmissable quirky festival that keeps it juicy every year with both its immaculate vibes and tasty artists. As always they have the sweetest talents hitting their stages and this year is no exception. Performing across their 4 stages this year, are no other than, BicepFour TetNelly FurtadoGroove ArmadaNia ArchivesOvermonoDJ SteinfieldSaluteand so much more Forbidden Fruit is going to be swarmed with untouchable talent. 

Forbidden Fruit takes place at Royal Hospital Kilmainham, on the surrounding fields providing the best landscape to enjoy a solid mixture of genres from, house, techno, electronic, pop and more. Even better Forbidden Fruit falls on a Bank Holiday (only applicable in Ireland),  meaning you can party all through the weekend with work firmly in the back of your mind!  Stunning.

Rewind

Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, this happens and makes life really worth living. On Sunday 2nd June, the well-loved Rewind festival will be bringing their boomboxes and diving into those throwback Thursdays all day in Dublin. For one day only, Rewind will be doing what they know best, at St. Annes Park, which is only a 20(ish) minute's drive from the city centre. 

And if you like to have a good boogie while seeing some of your faves on stage then you've come to the right place as the stunning lineup consists of Heather Small, Gabrielle, Go West, Nik Kershaw and so many more fab artists to bring you non-stop retro fun. 

 


 

In The Meadows

Dublin you should count your lucky stars because a brand-spanking new festival is coming your way this summer. The creators behind Forbidden Fruit and All Together Now, are taking a new approach with this new down-to-earth unique festival, that is more than just a festival. Highlighted as a celebration of music to be appreciated by true music fans no matter the genre. 

They have a lineup that truly expresses the beauty of this festival with, Choice Music Prize winners; Irish band,  LANKUM. Followed by,  Mogwai, Black Country, New Road, John Francis Flynn and loads more homegrown talent who'll be making the most of Ireland's most iconic concert setting.

Feeling something a bit more contemporary? Well then get a load of New Music Dublin; a contemporary Dublin music festival focused on bringing light to new and upcoming artists across Ireland. The festival highlights the cherished sounds that get amplified when inside the stunning, National Concert Hall, which is slap bang in the city; and other venues around Dublin.

This is the perfect festival if you're looking for something different that still offers an electric atmosphere and is jam-packed with a wide range of events. New Music Dublin always succeeds without fail, and if you want to witness some true musical artistry then we recommend putting this on your list! 

 


 

Dublin International Chamber Music Festival

Mellowing down this list, we have the final Dublin music festival - which we think sets the tone perfectly. The Dublin International Chamber Music Festival is a beautiful expression of both classical and modern music performed by a long line of skilled artists who love the sound just as much as you do. 

While the lineup or exact location hasn't been confirmed yet, the Dublin International Chamber Music Festival normally is spread over a range of breathtaking venues. From the botanical gardens to the Palladian country house in and around Dublin. We couldn't think of a better way to start the summer.
