One of the most revered festivals to match the 'enduring love affair between music and the written word' - Louder Than Words, returns to Manchester for its third consecutive year between November 13th and 15th.

With past guests including the likes of Jah Wobble, Tim Burgess, Hugh Cornwell (below) and Elbow's Guy Garvey, the standard has been set high, which is echoed through this year's line up.

Mike Garry kicks off the festival on Friday 13th with his chart-topping poem 'Ode to St Anthony', followed by appearances by The Jam's Rick Buckler, The Selecter's Pauline Black, Crass' Steve Ignorant, author Zoe How, and local folk hero Mike Harding.

There will also be a host of panels across the weekend, covering topics ranging between The Who and heavy metal, The Clash songwriting to Stiff Records, Slipknot to the Mod scene, featuring input from Barney Hoskyns, Jon Savage, Chris Charlesworth, Chris Salewicz, Keith Levene of PiL and The Clash, Ian Dury's daughter Jemima, and Big in Japan's Jayne Casey.
