Lady of the House (LOTH), the stalwart force exalting the presence of women and non-binary artists in the dance music scene, today announced the four winners of their inaugural production competition. Winning tracks, A&R’d by a crew of “Godmothers''including BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar and Charlie Tee, BRIT Award winner Becky Hill and Defected Records’ Sam Divine, will receive a special support package as part of their record release, including a remix of their track by a prominent artist, a professional promotional campaign and the chance to perform at major events over Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).

The winners will also be offered comprehensive mentorship and counsel as part of an accelerator program, which counts representatives from Beatport, Broadwick Live (Printworks and Beams), CAA, The Media Nanny, Night Time Economy Solutions and more.

The four selected tracks will serve as the entrées to the new record label Lady of the House Recordings, powered by LabelWorx and with promotional support from accelerator program members Your Army and DEMI, the tracks are:

Angel Lee feat. LKP, “Bill's Groove” - picked by Jaguar

Esther Turner, “Swayin'” - picked by Sam Divine

- EVALINA, “Vivid” - picked by Becky Hill

- Jamurai, “Meditation” - picked by Charlie Tee

This latest iteration of LOTH’s multi-platform programming extends their influence and mission; in only two years since forming, the group has made an extraordinary and outsized impact on the dance music industry. In 2021 they crowdfunded the release of a celebrated book detailing the presence of over 150 women in dance music, including interviews with icons like Charlotte de WitteNina KravizJocelyn BrownRóisín MurphyUltra Naté and a foreword by Carl Cox. The group curated a cultural exhibition around International Women’s Day with panels, workshops, art installation and performances and LOTH have also helmed several lauded music events in collaboration with Red Bull, British Airways and International Music Summit, and received awards for their work including Alternative Power 100 Music List 2021, The Beatport Group’s $100,000 Gender Parity Initiative and a shortlist nod for BBC Radio 1’s 2021 Dance Impact Award 2021.

LOTH founder and co-author Laila Mckenzie says, “I never dreamt that when we launched this record label that we would receive hundreds of demos in only 6 weeks. It shows me that as much as we say as an industry that we’ve not got enough women and non-binary producers, it’s not for lack of talent; it’s a matter of finding them, believing in them, investing in them, platforming them, amplifying them. All of these things that we don’t seem to be doing for women and non-binary people.”

She continues, “Lady of the House, along with our incredible partners, is going from strength to strength and putting words into action - we’re not just talking about what needs to be done to fix the industry, but actually going out there and fixing it, providing and working practical solutions that give proper examples of how we can really harness this talent that is out there.”

The four winning tracks will be released on 14 October 2022, and the group will perform sets at regarded events over the festival including LabelWorx’ 15th Anniversary event and closing for Seth Troxler at the 5th anniversary of the ADE Mixer hosted by The Media Nanny, Audio Obscura and The Brand Father. LOTH will also curate ADE panels with Spinnin’ Records on 19 October and another on 21 October entitled Harnessing the Power of Dance Musics Gender Parity Initiatives.
