East London’s IZCO is stepping fully into the spotlight with news of the release of his debut solo album, Powerscroft, dropping on Friday 1st May via Brownswood Recordings.
Accompanying the announcement is the album’s first single, ‘Strike a Pose’ featuring Camille Munn. And as if that wasn’t enough to get excited about, IZCO has also revealed a UK tour in support of the record, with dates running from March through to May, culminating at London’s Jazz Café.
Named after the road he grew up on, Powerscroft offers a deeply personal snapshot of IZCO’s world. Over the past decade, he’s helped shape UK dance music, blending jungle, broken beat, grime, garage, soul and dub into a sound that’s both nostalgic and forward-looking. The album captures the energy of the dancefloor while staying rooted in memory and identity, offering listeners a journey through his life, influences, and musical vision.
The lead single, Strike a Pose, distills that vision perfectly. Fusing broken beat with garage and soulful flourishes, the track explores transformation and self-growth.
“It’s about when someone changes, and it’s hard to recognise them anymore,” says IZCO. Camille Munn adds: “It’s about pushing forward, building resilience, and mastering your emotions - growth can separate you, sometimes to the point where someone no longer feels recognisable.”
IZCO’s rise has been remarkable. From making grime beats for local MCs to becoming a key figure in the UK’s dance scene, he’s played standout sets at We Out Here, Outlook, and Glastonbury, toured Asia, Australia, and Europe, and collaborated with artists like PinkPantheress, Katy B, and Greentea Peng. He’s also worked with reggae legend Bob Andy, co-founded the Brighter Days Family collective, and runs his own label and Rinse FM show. Where does he find the time?
With Powerscroft, IZCO delivers his most personal, fully realised project yet; a celebration of his roots, his growth, and the sound that’s defining the next generation of UK dance music.
