Soulwax, the multiple award-winning Belgian duo best known for pushing dance culture to thrilling places, have teamed up with London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios for a first-ever “After Hours” rave in Studio One. Yes, that very same Studio One that’s held sessions with countless renowned musical talents over the years, the likes of Harry Styles, U2 and even Stevie Wonder, to name just a few.
Schedule to takeover the space on Saturday 21st February, running from evening into the early hours, this intimate event will welcome just 300 lucky guests for a truly unique party. There won’t be a standard ticket shop drop, entry can only be gained via a public ballot, and fans are already buzzing about how to get on the list.
Soulwax will curate the whole night, with DJ sets from their world-famous alter ego 2manydjs and other special guests yet to be revealed. But the real twist? The crew will be creating brand new music inside Abbey Road’s Studio Two the day before, experimenting with vintage gear and capturing fresh material to spin out during the rave itself. Imagine, you could be the very first person to hear brand new Soulwax music. Sign us up.
The event will also showcase the brand-new DEEWEE Soundsystem - a speaker setup inspired by the legendary Paradise Garage stack - giving this already historic space a modern, rave-ready club makeover.
If you’ve ever dreamed of dancing in Studio One surrounded by the ghosts of music legends, this is basically that, but louder, weirder, and as part of a limited but very special crowd. It’s the kind of idea that sounds nuts on paper (Abbey Road rave? Really?), but it’s all part of what makes it so damn alluring.
To be in with a chance of getting your name on the list, you’ll need to call the Soulwax hotline on 07886 072699 - just as dance fans once had to in those heady, early days of rave. The hotline is now open.
If you miss out on tickets, don’t get down about it. You can instead watch the madness unfold on YouTube, on Thursday 5th March.
