Gorillaz have announced a North American tour, the virtual band’s first in the continent since 2022. The news follows the recent release of the group’s acclaimed ninth LP The Mountain, and will see the virtual band brought to life by co-creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett.

The tour begins in Orlando, FL on Thursday 17th September, and runs until a Halloween night finale in Seattle, WA on Saturday 31st October. Hip hop group Deltron 3030 - which includes regular Gorillaz collaborators Del the Funky Homosapien and Dan the Automator - will support the virtual band across all 22 gigs, with Mercury Prize-winning rapper Little Simz appearing on the majority of the dates.
Gorillaz have been busy since the release of The Mountain last Friday. Their short film The Mountain, The Moon Cave and The Sad God directed by Hewlett and BAFTA-nominated animation studio THE LINE, chronicles band members Noodle, Murdoc, 2D, and Russel on a journey across India, dropped via the band’s KONG label; the band’s UK tour begins later this month with two nights at Manchester’s Co Op Live.
