Up Next is Skiddle's guide to the best in new music, and this week we've got the latest track from Kneecap, disco-tinged guitar music and hyperpop to share with you. Check out the best new music below.

Kneecap - Smugglers and Scholars

Kneecap, a group known for their discretion, are on a roll of new music at the moment. After hitting the headlines across 2025, they're back with a new album in April. Their latest single, 'Smugglers and Scholars' has an overriding sense of dread hanging over it, and a dark edge which amps up the drama. The song sees the band play off the typo of Detroit hip-hop record they love, whilst adding in that extra bit of electricity.

MPH & Æ - Flex It

'Flex It' is a fantastic collaboration between MPH and Æ. The former brings the tempo in droves, with strobe-like blasts that deliver a relentless energy. Æ matches this with her vocals which more than keep pace and sees her act as a puppet master for your feet. The momentum just doesn't let up, and leaves you craving another play, and another, and another.

Terror - Still Suffer

One of hardcore's most influential bands, Terror, line up a new sucker punch with 'Still Suffer'. A song which explores cycles of pain and internal damage, it thrashes and whips around its whips like an alligator being wrestled. Bringing noise, heavy riffs and loud, shouted vocals, what more could you want?

Fejka - TAPE_X247 (Max Cooper Remix)

One of the most immersive tracks that you'll have heard in 2026, 'Tape_x247' is a blanket of cushioned, luscious sound. And, in Max Cooper's hands on this remix, has an extra element of light, bristling electricity which adds real warmth to the composition. This is a song for dreaming, entering an ethereal state that will have you pondering all things big and small. Sit down, sink in and enjoy.

Pigeon - Mirror Test

'Mirror Test' sees Pigeon's disco-tinged sound head into outer space. The soul-like vocals of Falle Nioke are set to make you ascend to the cosmos alongside him. The textured guitar playing goes from strength to strength, in a constant evolution. They're one of the most unique bands around at the moment.

Harry Hayes - I Did You Wrong

Sydney DJ and Producer Harry Hayes delivers a dose of summer euphoria with 'I Did You Wrong'. The way he uses nostalgic samples is reminiscent of Barry Can't Swim, putting one at the centrepiece of this arrangement and blasting out nothing short of joyous keyboard notes, and heavy, pulsating drum beats.

Maria BC - Rare

'Rare' is an elegant composition by Maria BC. There's a sense of weariness throughout it, but also beauty. The way textures scuttle around the main melody makes the song feel like it's surrounded by nature. Taking influence from ambient music, it has a certain vastness, but Maria's vocals make the song feel deftly intimate.

Cootie Catcher - Quarter Note Rock

Toronto band Cootie Catcher show their skill at building up songs on 'Quarter Note Rock' Every single intersection of guitar is incredibly satisfying to listen to. A track about vulnerability, there's a certain awkwardness here, but the melody is fantastic, and has a keen sense of invention.

Wu Lyf - Love Your Fate

A powerfully emotional return from Manchester's Wu Lyf, who haven't released a new album since 2011. This song grips you by the collar and asks you to think about what really matters. You can feel the experiences behind the lyrics pouring through in the vocals. The track is out via Bandcamp, so go out and seek it for a powerful hit to your soul.

Underscores - Tell Me (U Want It)

The glitchy hyperpop of Underscores has never felt more unique and expressive for Underscores than on 'Tell Me (U Want It)'. The chorus is a smash, as her stuttering vocals glitch into place amongst hits of distorted bass. It's like entering a computer matrix, similar to a Ninajirachi song, and Underscores seems to be carving out her own space in forward-thinking hyperpop.

Pinkpantheress - Illegal (Four Tet remix)

You may not have expected this one, but Four Tet has put his own spin on Pinkpantheress' 'Illegal'. Now surrounded by a pulsating drum and synth loop, Pink's vocals are scattered amongst the beat, like fragments that have been picked up and put back together.
