Sheffield’s Steel Yard boasts multi-genre events calendar

Sheffield's biggest independent outdoor event space, SY (Steel Yard), has plenty of events coming up in 2026, with something for pretty much everyone. 

Steel Yard, an outdoor space with shipping containers filled with independent businesses, offers shopping, food, drink, and tunes. 

Among the venue’s upcoming events, there are Groovebox takeovers headlined by Obskur (1st August 2026), SOSA (22nd August), bullet tooth (30th August), and Sidney Charles with Luuk Van Dijk (26th September). Some of the hottest DJs about right now, the dance floor will be on fire from start to finish. 

Booked in for Saturday 8th August 2026, The Night Out Returns brings the golden era of house, R&B, indie, and soul from 1990-1995, with six areas to explore.

Saturday 15th August sees outdoor summer festival R&B Mania land in SY, uniting thousands of the genre’s die-hard fans in song, with glitter stations, performers and hosts. Expect to hear Lauryn Hill, SZA, Destiny's Child, Usher, Summer Walker, and more.

Another big outdoor summer bash, Road to Nashville brings the country vibes on Saturday 29th August. Going huge, there'll be ace throwing, line dancing, bull riding, BBQ, and tributes to Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Morgan Wallen, Miley Cyrus, and Luke Combs.

Getting nostalgic with it, Spandau Ballet legend Martin Kemp's Back to the 80s DJ set brings the bangers on Saturday 5th September. Only 50 tickets are left for this party that will see neon, nostalgia and non-stop 80s anthems.
