A heady combination folk music, guitars, dance music and electronica all jostle for position in iconic record label Wall of Sound’s curated affair. With some of the imprint's hottest new signings getting involved in mash up sets that show an impressive spectrum of sonic inventiveness, Rock ‘n’ Rave vs Folk Face Off is looking like being one of the most exciting developments of Secret Garden Party yet.

Some of the main players involved in the eclectic label showcase include the mature soulful stylings of Will Joseph Cook. Since supporting man of the moment Tom Odell in Manchester earlier this year, Will has gone on to really catch the public's attention. Despite only being 16 years old, Will Joseph Cook continues to show understanding and depth beyond his years, resulting in him becoming one of the country’s most promising new talents.

Will Joseph Cook - Fresh Air

Joining him will be Icelandic electro pop innovators Sykur. We’re not sure what’s in the water, but Iceland has been responsible for some of the most important bands in history, from Bjork to Sigur Ros, Amiina to Gus Gus, the relatively small and sparsely populated island located just outside the Arctic circle has repeatedly exported bands that have changed the face of popular music forever. Now it looks as if there is yet another influential band to come from the beautiful and remote country. The Reykjavik based four piece electro wizards are set for world domination, as their unique and upbeat sound reaches an ever wider audience.

Sykur - Curling

Detroit born Mayaeni is next up. After blowing up worldwide with her collaborative effort with Sander Van Doorn and taking Ultra Miami by storm last year, the future is very bright indeed for the Michigan based Diva.

The imaginative loop pedal pioneering of Jeremy Loops will also be in full effect. The South African experimentalist has been wowing audiences with his multi instrumentalism, beatboxing and textured sampling, resulting in a skeewiff alternative to contemporary folk music.

Jeremy Loops - Power

And finally Killaflaw will be showcasing their unique electronic and rock hybrid. The lads from Liverpool have been described as Led Zeppelin meets Chemical Brothers, or Soundgarden in bed with The Prodigy. Their own distinctive sound will be a more than welcome addition to the increasingly appetising Secret Garden Party line up.
