Latitude Festival retains site for another two decades

Latitude Festival has confirmed that it has extended the lease of its site Henham Park for another 20 years. The Suffolk festival has been held in the park and historic estate since its inception two decades ago, and has recently wrapped its 2026 edition last weekend.

Founded in 2006 by Festival Republic’s managing director Melvin Benn, the first edition of Latitude attracted a modest crowd of 4500, a far cry from the total crowd of 135,000 people two decades on, and has welcomed Ed Sheeran, Florence + The Machine, Thom Yorke, Tom Jones and more over the years. Its most recent edition, which took place last weekend, was headlined by David Byrne, Teddy Swims, and Lewis Capaldi. 

Benn himself broke the news of the extended lease on Sunday, while sharing the stage with George McKay, Professor of Media Studies at the University of East Anglia. Hektor Rous, a member of the family who own the historic Henham Park estate, said in a statement that, “we couldn't be more pleased to have agreed another 20 years with the brilliantly creative and passionate team at Festival Republic led by Melvin Benn."

With this new lease and a successful recent edition behind them, it looks like Latitude will remain in Henham Park for many more years to come.
