After previously announcing the arrival of hip hop legends Public Enemy and abstract blues genius Seasick Steve at the beginning of April, Kendal Calling announces yet more big names and wise bookings to really set the tone for what is shaping up to be a killer edition of the festival in 2013.

First up we have an artist at the frontier of the nu-folk movement - Lucy Rose. Nobody manages to pull on the heartstrings quite as much as the talented folk heroine. Her arrival at Kendal this year is hotly anticipated, and will see her performing critically acclaimed material from debut album ‘Like I Used To’.

On a different note, Kendal Calling also proudly introduce non other than turntablist and DJ extraordinaire DJ Yoda. Playing everything from funk to reggae, and drum n bass to hip hop, DJ Yoda uses the full range of the musical spectrum to evoke a party atmosphere that is unlike anything any other DJ dare attempt. Adding to his irreverent music policy, DJ Yoda has now combined his sets with cutting edge visual displays making his performances even more mesmerizing.

Birmingham lads The Twang will be getting their hands dirty at Kendal as well, no doubt thrashing out indie rock anthem after indie rock anthem. Acid house pioneers and Hacienda legends 808 State will also be joining in on the fun, as will sonic adventurer Richard Norris and house music veteran Ashley Beedle.

Elite Force will be kept busy this weekend as he plays both Kendal Calling and Wickerman Festival, laying his solid tech funk grooves down for the green field festival faithful. Clean Bandit will add their stunning hip hop, house and classical music blend to dazzle the minds and hearts, which will be juxtaposed against Maribou State’s techno & electro, and North Base’s dubstep freakouts.

Kendal Calling really has it all again this year, as the small festival with a big attitude continues to punch above its weight and take on the large festivals with great success.
