Friday 25th November sees Skiddle's chosen charity C.A.L.M take over Topman Oxford Circus for an eight hour DJ battle featuring Zane Lowe, Rob da Bank, The Maccabees and many more.

The event marks the launch of CALMzone London, and the new London helpline to support young men with depression.

From 12pm to 8pm Topman will be transformed by the sounds of some of the biggest names in music going head to head in hour long sets. The line up is as follows (deep breath):

Rob da Bank vs The Maccabees
Zane Lowe vs Eddy Temple-Morris
Huw Stephens vs Dan le Sac
Herve vs Baxta
Kissy Sell Out vs Union
The Loose Cannons vs Freestylers
Sonny Wharton vs Wideboys & Majestic
Mistajam vs Pixel Fist

But of course, the day is about much more than music and shopping. Suicide is the biggest killer of young men in London, and CALM (The Campaign Against Living Miserably) exists to support young men who are depressed or feeling down, with a range of services and support methods.

The new CALMZone London helpline and texting service launches on 26th November. The telephone helpline will be open between 5pm and midnight on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, every week of the year. Calls are free (from landlines and some mobile phone providers) and the helpline is anonymous and confidential. See www.thecalmzone.net for details.

Dan Taylor, London CALMzone Coordinator says: “Its great to see such a line-up
of talent support this campaign. Young men need to feel able to talk to someone
when they feel down or in crisis, whether that’s family, a friend or a helpline."

Zane Lowe says: “What support groups like CALM do is help men who struggle with balance to understand that they are not alone. That when things get too much, there is help at hand. It’s really important that music plays a part in this. It helps people to express themselves when simple dialogue is not enough.”
