Skiddle: The UK's biggest guide to festivals

There's so many amazing festivals out there but it can be difficult to work out which festivals you're going to attend. There's so many things to take into consideration - the location of the festival, the size of the festival, the genre of music, whether it's family friendly and the type of facilities onsite.

Skiddle's new Festivals Finder is here to make the process that bit easier. Simply use the Festivals Finder's unique festival search, which include options allowing you to search for festivals based on filters such as location; month; genres; type; size; accommodation; amenities and even the artists you've liked on Facebook!

Wendy became the punk buyer for Virgin Records in Notting Hill Gate in the 70s when the Clash, Elvis Costello and the like were regular customers. She joined the hillbilly punky ska band The Boothill Footappers, label mates with Billy Bragg and the Housemartin. Their first single 'Get your feet out of my shoes' was hailed by the NME as "the thinking woman's answer to Tammy Wynette's 'Stand by your Man'." The band broke up in '86 and Wendy went on to start a club night at Kentish Town's legendary Town & Country Club on Friday nights called Wendy May's Locomotion. Locomotion regularly pulled in 2000 clubbers and is featured in Nick Hornby's book '31 Songs' as Nick was a regular/big fan.

Norman Cooke aka Fatboy Slim did one of his first ever DJ sets warming up for Wendy when he was the bass player with The Housemartins, and Phill Jupitus first took to the decks at her club! One regular guest DJ was a very fresh faced Andy Lewis, who later went on to run Blow Up club night & is now Bass player for Paul Weller. In '87 she co-presented the last series of The Tube for Channel 4 with Jools Holland & Paula Yates whilst also being the only female DJ & youth presenter on London's Capital Radio, giving live sessions to up & coming bands. Wendy continues to host her Locomotion nights all over the UK + joins forces with Abi & Jo for the Lively Bird gigs.
