Review of Mim Grey Live

Saw Mim last night at Surbiton Wine Cellar, really enjoyed her singing and the music she played, guitar& harmonica. The two guys with her were also excellent one on keyboard & the other playing countless instruments, all to a high standard. They engaged with the audience nicely and that resulted in a convivial atmosphere all round .

Songstress Mim Grey, accompanied by percussionist Steven Vintner and keyboard player Elliott Rooney gave a sublime performance in this wonderful and intimate venue.
Mim's music is lyrically focused, her songs being narrations on life and its experiences and she has a magnificent voice that has real depth to it with a little husky rasp and that suits the music. Mim is also an accomplished guitarist and last night these qualities were perfectly showcased.
Steven's expansive percussion was creative and vivid and Elliott weaved intricate patterns of notes as his hands glided over the keys.

Collectively the trio enthralled a truly appreciative audience and fully deserved their ovation end encore.
Proprietor Simon Baile does an amazing job in creating such a welcoming venue for artists and fabs alike.

Review of Leonie Gale Live

Excellar is a very special place for live music and proprietor Simon Baile has done an amazing job in bringing such quality artists to this little part of suburbia. The music, the food and of course the wine make for a perfect evening.
Last night songstress Leonie Gale performed with the exceptional talents of Emily Francis and Nat Martin.
Leonie was positively outstanding as a vocalist that sang across the complete vocal range. Leonie also revealed facets of her music and personal Iife journey and it was a privilege to be part of that.
All the time Simon puts these gigs on I will keep returning.

Lovely relaxed evening. Leonie was very engaging and her back stories behind the different numbers were lovely to hear . It made the music so much more meaningful. Wonderful night. Thank you.

Lovely voice but over amplified for the space . 
Waited a very long time for our food and one pitzza was overcooked . It's crowded but a lovely atmosphere friendly with great wine . I think with more staff and a better sound check it would have been a very good evening. I'd definitely go again in the hope the issues we had were a one off .

I wish people would of got up and dance plus the food was more organised and had no alcohol drinks.
