What makes the Hac's parties so special is their refusal to be simply just about the music played at the original club's glory period of the late eighties (something another resident Graeme Park regaled to us in our January podcast), with the vibe and the influence of the club just as integral in creating the musical framework.
That's prevalent all over this mix, the Black Rob sampling 'Sorry I'm late' from Kollektiv Turmstrasse coming off as a modern hip-house groover which quickly melts into the bubbling acid of Scott Marshall's 'So Good' - the Hacienda's vibe encapsulated without the kind of obvious classics template seen at other nights that celebrate clubbing history.
It makes for the Albert Hall party all the more alluring, with the transatlantic connection combined at this party with the appearance of Danny Tenaglia and Francois K, the former in his first Manchester show since the last decade.
