Announcing the arrival of some of the biggest DJs in Old Skool Classics, Happy hardcore, Bounce and Old Skool Drum n Bass, Bowlers yet again look to be throwing the perfect big event that harks back to the golden age of dance music.
First up is none other than the legendary DJ Welly. A professional DJ since 1988, DJ Welly has been one of the biggest names on the scene, regularly playing iconic venues such as Revenge, Monroes, ARK, The Pleasuredome, Bowlers, Carlos II, Wigan Pier, Jooce and many, many more. His styles can range from hip hop to house, funk to drum n bass, breaks to hardcore. Anyone who has listened to his extensive amount of mixes lifted from c90 tape cassettes will appreciated just how good this guy is, and has been for sometime.

He is flying across from his new home in Australia especially for the night, to play across three of the five arena’s Bowlers has on offer. First off he’ll be manning the decks for a magical mystery tour into old skool classics and anthems, but its probably his arrival in arena four with ‘The Pleasuredome Reunion’ special that has us most excited. He’ll be returning alongside previous Pleasuredome residents to throw a one off special tribute to a pre ‘92 mix of old skool bangers that is guaranteed to take the roof off Bowlers.
Alongside DJ Welly, we can look forward to sets from the champion scratch master DJ Sy and Manchester old skool legend Stu Allan. Baby D will be on hand to perform ‘let me be your fantasy’, as will Livin Joy and their anthem ‘Rreamer’ for what has to be the ultimate in old skool experiences.
Those with a penchant for a donk classics will be in their element in Arena 3, with DJs Ben T, DJ Welly (he’s going to be seriously busy all night) Mikey B and Pete Daley treating you to a night of Bounce Classics. Arena 2 will see Bonkers main man Hixxy doing his thing alongside Vibes & Livelee, Stu Allan and once again DJ Sy for the ultimate Happy Hardcore experience.
The night will be rounded off in Arena 5 with Mark XTC, Marc Mackender, Simi Q Base, and DJ Break amongst many others playing some of the biggest and best old skool Drum ‘n’ Bass.
Bowlers last shindig enjoyed over 4,000 eager ravers creating one of the most electric atmospheres Manchester venue has ever experienced. With the Summer Special, all the ingredients are in place for even more impressive old skool extravaganza.
