Eats Everything’s new LP, We Lost Ourselves And Found A Family, is a 16-track tribute to the storied past and present of dance music and rave culture. One where the modern British dance music hero collabs with a who's who of icons from the global scene.
Whether it's house master Kerri Chandler, jungle pioneer Goldie, UKG staple MJ Cole, bass house guru Chris Lorenzo, Sheffield rapper Coco, fellow Bristolian Gardna, the “Original Rave Whisperer” MC SGT Pokes, or the many more featured; this is a record that encompasses all the sonic facets of rave culture, set for release today via Three Six Zero Recordings / Ministry Of Sound.
Eats Everything’s latest album, We Lost Ourselves And Found A Family, is a bold showcase of his genre-spanning production prowess, seamlessly weaving together elements of old-school rave, UK garage, classic house, retro funk, and techno.
Pulsating with raw rave energy, tracks like 'Absolutely Mental' (ft. SGT Pokes) and 'The Sanctuary' (ft. HQA) are built for the warehouse and brimming with rave-ready drum breaks and system-pushing bass. The album’s title track takes a different turn however, as leftfield bass murks and wobbles underneath a poetic narrative on the hedonistic beauty of the formative 90s illegal raves, delivered by none other than Metalheadz founder Goldie.
Elsewhere, house icon Kerri Chandler drops wise words over the rhythms of 'The Deeper', a masterclass in deep house grooves. MJ Cole brings a tender touch on 'One Call', an R&B-tinged garage gem, while 'Side By Side' - a high-energy house-garage fusion featuring Gardna - captures the chaos of life on the road. Other highlights include previously heard hits ‘Happy People’ with Stevie Appleton, the 2024-released ‘Ghosts’ with Chris Lorenzo and the brand new, extremely sleazy and sassy ‘Wowalicious’.
On the release, Eats Everything, aka Dan Pearce, said: "This album is an encapsulation of my experiences with dance music throughout the ages.
“I touch on almost every genre, from D’n’B to boogie. Some of it’s for the dancefloor, some of it’s not. There are twists and turns, some beautiful stuff, and some gnarly stuff. I’ve collaborated with heroes of mine. It’s been a long time coming, with many pitfalls and ups and downs, but it’s ultimately been a labour of love.”
